Hi, I am the jewellery artist that is T for Tina. Here is my story. I am a mum to three, a wife and I teach French part-time. I am not very good at relaxing. Relaxing makes me tense. It's a bit like yoga - I can't do that because it's too slow, but I can go out for a mad run. I cannot sit down and do nothing - my hands have to be busy. Then I feel that I am not wasting valuable time. And then I relax.
I have been making jewellery professionally since about 2006. On the way to becoming a successful jewellery artist I have been a sandwich maker in a sandwich shop, a print production manager, a translation bureau worker, owner of my own translation company, and then a French teacher. I'm a self-taught jewellery artist, learning pretty much everything by doing it. I started selling my jewellery because people kept asking me where I had bought my necklace, or my ring, or my bracelet, or my earrings ..........and I had made them all myself. So I gave it a go.
I wake up most days thinking about everything I'm going to make and after a couple of cups of coffee, after getting the children out to school, after walking my lovely dog, and after preparing my French classes, I get started on it! I am lucky that I am able to pursue what interests me and on my own terms. There is a trade-off of course: I'm a rubbish house keeper - there are messy floors and busy table tops, but it all gets sorted when necessary!
I have a shop you can visit at http://folksy.com/shops/TforTinaJewellery
